Amcanu are amongst the first businesses taking part in a new initiative being run by Lloyds Bank and industry improvement champions, the Wales Quality Centre. ‘Journey to Excellence’ is a business development tool designed to help companies identify expansion opportunities and achieve new goals.
The initiative will drive growth among the country’s army of small and medium-sized manufacturing firms. Around 7% of Wales 214,000 businesses are involved in manufacturing, with the vast majority being small and medium-sized operations of under 50 workers.
Wales Quality Centre says it believes a high proportion of these firms have the potential to grow into major operations if they have support to boost staff performance and product innovation.
Amcanu hope to use the expertise being offered to step up into a bigger league by harnessing existing talent, improving management, enhancing their offer to the market and adding even more value to customers.
