Noise, whether constant or intermittent, is source of stress for both people and animals. Many of our enclosures are used in built-up areas, so we’ve worked hard over the years to nail sound attenuation.
Our sound attenuated enclosures minimise the impact of noise pollution – the health effects of being constantly exposed to elevated sound are well documented. We support our customers to do as much as they can to tackle the negative impact of industrial equipment on people and wildlife. Whether protecting staff on a building site, or local residents and biodiversity, we make sure that our enclosures are designed to reduce noise.
We aim to build enclosures that keep sound levels below 65 dB (A) or less at 7 metres, whilst maintaining the optimum performance of engines, pumps, compressors and generators.
We use a specially formulated acoustic foam, created using several layers of different materials, which allows us to reduce noise without impacting on space for equipment and airflow.
The measurement of noise, and therefore noise emissions, is very difficult. Variations in ambient sound, environment, wind speed and particularly air density are all influencing factors – impacting the results of noise measurements.
Despite all this we've developed what we believe to be a robust testing procedure – measuring the noise emissions from a range of positions and distances under test conditions.
If you’d like to know more about how we create the soundproofing in our enclosures, then please do get in touch.
