A familiar face to customers and suppliers, Martyn Evans our fantastic operations director has just celebrated 40 years at Amcanu.
Martyn started his career with Spencer Davies OBE as a toolmaker. He set up the machine shop and the tool room that are still in the Amcanu factory today. Young Martyn showed himself to be a hard worker, with a personality that everyone appreciated. He had a knack for plain speaking, but with kindness, which singled him out as a great candidate for a more customer facing role. When Owain graduated from the shop floor to a management role, he successfully campaigned for Martyn to move up with him.
For 30 years Martyn and Owain have worked side by side, through the good times and the bad.

As well as being a crucial outward facing team member, Martyn is a great support to the team and is always there for the younger members of the team
"I remember coming in for my interview 13 years ago and Martyn and Owain sitting me down to discuss my apprenticeship. I didn’t know at that time Martyn would have such an influence in my career. He has mentored and guided me all the way from an apprentice to my current role of production controller. Work aside, he is a true gent and has a wicked sense of humour!" - Josh Element
